It was an evening with a strong avantgarde attitude organized by TONEFLOAT Records situated in Rotterdam/The Netherlands. Three musicians from a different origin were touring together through Holland, Belgium and Germany.
The best known is woodwind master THEO TRAVIS who also has collaborations with THE TANGENT and SOFT MACHINE LEGACY. It takes getting used to when listening to the flute solo excursions coupled with some electronical variance - this is hardly comparable to his work with the aforementioned bands. |

SAND SNOWMAN started off this evening, sitting on a chair, acting like being isolated, absolutely concentrated on his mission. He plays dark mooded folk and psych music with his acoustic guitar. This is also processed with some electronical variations, well thought out feedbacks and delays which remembers me at the repetitive style of some krautrock guitar giants like Manuel Göttsching and Günther Schickert. FEAR FALLS BURNING aka Dirk Serries celebrated another special performance with his electric instrument. He builds up droned guitar walls which are developing in waves. Post Rock could be an appropriate categorization. This is cosmic/krautrock influenced too and quite melodic in parts. |
