It was a quite impressive evening with two bands from Poland touring in Europe at the moment ...
They have some similiarities with the sound and the performance on the stage.
Hard working bass player Mariusz Ziólkowski appeared in both bands and made out the main attraction on this evening.
Each time the gigs were also provided with a jamming part in an ambient/psychedelic mood where the singers changed to a melancholic laid-back behaviour.
Unfortunately both drummer were hidden behind plexiglass walls and there was no chance to take a picture of them. The stage is not very extended and
flute player Jacek Zasada had a really uncomfortable place.
AFTER started off with a blend of heavy and neo prog, sometimes a little bit metal edged too. Two guitars are arranging the heavy rocking fundament.
The songs are made up quite diversified.
setlist
- Hillside of dreams
- The end
- Closed shame
- Wonderful mistake
- Hideout
- Fingers
- Sense confuse reality
QUIDAM is more mellow, not only because they have a flute player in the line-up. And the songs are coming up more elaborated. The band quoted some impressions
from Deep Purple's 'Hush' and 'Riders On The Storm'. Guitarist Maciek Meller is in a class of his own. Sadly they didn't play my personal showpiece 'Hands Off'.
setlist
- Pierwszy
- Peralta
- Toolik
- Surrevival
- Jazzy
- First
- Not so close
- Alone together
- Sanktuarium
Far too less spectators considering there were only two gigs in Germany performed by the bands ...
