This evening was the finale of the bands' mini tour which brought them also to Switzerland for example.
ABARAX - usually known for bringing up a large crew with three guitarists, two keyboarder and several vocalists - at this time appeared on the stage
reduced to the core.
They offered a mix of wellknown tracks from the 2005 release 'The Crying Of The Whales' and some new songs which are intended to be part of the forthcoming new album - 'As we spoke' for example which I really like and the impressing 'A Salty Dog', originally from Procol Harum of course, this time celebrated by the duo Udo Grasekamp (keys) and Coon B. (guitar, vocals). 'Journey's End' was decorated by an excerpt of 'Comfortably Numb' as a deep bow to their paragons - especially dedicated to Rick Wright R.I.P. ABARAX setlist: 1. Crying Of The Whales Part 1 2. Nature's Voice 3. As We Spoke 4. Autumn Storm 5. Sermons & Lies 6. A Salty Dog 7. Journey's End (incl. Comfortably Numb) 8. Red Roses And Bullets The ALSO EDEN boys had just released their new album 'It's Kind Of You To Ask' and therefore were keen on introducing their new songs to the audience. Unfortunately Huw Lloyd-Jones suffered of a cold and therefore his good voice was not so present as usual. Simon Rodgers' and Steve Dunn's guitar/bass work was impressive again in the same way as on their gig at pROCKfest 2007. All in all a pleasant evening with two bands of a bright future. ALSO EDEN setlist: 1. Star 2. Artificial Light 3. Between The Lines 4. Skimming Stones 5. For Bumble 6.Together Alone 7. Photographs 8. A Widow's Eyes |
